Cultural Education

We are delighted to begin to develop our penpal project this academic year – 2022-2023. We are working hard to build connections to schools throughout the world, so that each year group is connected to a different country. We will write letters/emails and have virtual meetings at significant times of the year to share how a child in a different country lives. Embracing language, festivals, schooling, hobbies, homes, pets and toys – and topical elements as they arise through getting to know the class within a different country. These are some examples of last year’s cultural activities.

Understanding and appreciation of the wide range of cultural influences that have shaped their own heritage

Willingness to participate in, respond to, for example, artistic, musical, sporting, mathematical, technological, scientific and cultural opportunities.

Interest in exploring, understanding of, and respect for cultural diversity and the extent to which they understand, accept, respect and celebrate diversity, as shown by their attitudes towards different religious, ethnic and socio- economic groups in the local, national and global communities

Ensure children are exposed to a wide range of literature, music and information to enhance their cultural development
